It is hard to believe, but the #1 reason girls in Africa have to drop out of school is their monthly period. Without education, the girls perpetuate the cycle of poverty and dependency. My friends at Humanity Healing International are working to break this vicious cycle with a multifaceted approach that both keeps the girls in school and teaches them the trade skills to make environmentally friendly reusable pads so that they can, in turn, help other girls.
